Re: Blood Tide Rising OOC

June 27, 2008 by gadtok

Okay, I guess I'll go first.

Name: Grummy (Don't ask. It's a nickname.) Faustian
Age: 26
Occupation: Security guard
Physical Description: Solid as a brick wall, people often describe Grummy as imposing, though he hates to be thought of that way. He keeps his dirty brown hair trimmed at a moderate length, and is proudly cultivating a soon-to-be-full beard. His features are heavy and blocky like the granite he resembles so closely.
Biography: Will be revealed in character development.

Sorry I didn't make it multiple choice, but I'm not quite sure how to do that yet. Gimme a few days to tinker. :D

Blood Tide Rising OOC

June 26, 2008 by gadtok

Place: Midwestern America
Time: November, 2009

With the rate of violent crime rising exponentially all over the world, doomsayers were having a field day. Turns out things were even worse than anyone thought, when an epidemic seemingly similar to Ebola spread like wildfire among the most heavily populated areas. People began to drop like flies, and governments were thrown into a panic trying to find an immunization. No-one, however, realized how sinister the disease was until those who died from it got up and started to walk again. And eat again. Many people had proven to be immune to the original, airborne form of the illness, but no one could survive once they had been bitten by a walking corpse. The military response could be described as 'harsh' at best, 'a slaughter' at worst. Innocent, uninfected civilians were imprisoned in entire cities, left to fend for themselves among the walking dead. Those who managed to find their way out of quarantine areas were immediately gunned down.

Now, it is one week into military control, and we join our small group of survivors as they attempt to stay alive, trapped in a small public school in the center of town.

Here's the deal. Post a basic description of your character. It doesn't have to be complex, since character development will be the focus of this game. Use the chart I have written below as a guideline.

Name:
Age:
Occupation:
Physical Description:
Biography (optional):

Any characters that join this thread will start out in the aforementioned school. If we can get this thing off the ground, I'll elaborate a bit more.

What is this place for? [Read please!]

June 26, 2008 by gadtok

This category is for various topics that have to do with real life, rather than internet life. Movies, television, literature, art, and anything else you can think of are what this category is for. For convenience, try heading your topic names with these acronyms so people can tell the difference.

[TV] Television.
[MOV] Movies.
[LIT] Literature.
[NEWS] News of any nature: political, global, etc.
[ART] You know... art!
[COM] Comics, graphic novels, whatever. :P
[MAKE] Things that you've built yourself. Regardless of what it is! :)

This is by no means mandatory, but could be helpful! Try it if you'd like.

Various Apologies!

I'm aware that this forum software has a much different format than most of you are used to (Unless you're a past user of Lefora), but my motivation behind that is 'KISS' (Keep It Simple Stupid). It may sound strange, but I hoped that a dramatically simplified format would help people focus more on the content of the forum, rather than distracting 'aesthetic' hindrances. If there prove to be any problems with this, I'll make an effort to change it.

Poll: Your favorite genre of roleplay?

June 26, 2008 by gadtok

What is your favorite genre when participating in a roleplay? To clarify, Pop Culture would be anything like a fanfic. IE: Pokemon (ick), 28 Days Later, etc.
